A New Beginning
The 2011-2012 school year is destined to be extraordinary. Being the first year in the new building brings many new but welcomed challenges. Having a larger space and newer technology, such as a promethean board, helps with learning all the required knowledge that is needed to be competitive with other Florida NJROTC units during competitions. The more senior cadets have already started teaching the junior cadets what they must know before their first competition, which will be October 22nd at Mitchell High School in New Port Richy.
Meanwhile, we are busy with events at LBHS, such as Football Parking, Color Guard performances, and daily practices. We have nine teams consisting of: Color Guard, athletic, academic, rifle, and five drill teams. There are high expectations set for this year and without a doubt the unit will meet them all.
Throughout the upcoming year you will see the NJROTC helping out around your community. Some events the NJROTC will be conducting throughout the year will be car washes, Christmas tree sales, and the Eggstravaganza just to name a few. More information on these and other events will be coming soon. So, don't forget to show support and help Lemon Bay's NJROTC soar to new heights.
